Of the ideas discussed in this forum, the following is planned soon, or under development:

* 802.1x authentication based on User/domain *and* mac address, allowing authentication of user and device, without having to manage certificates (we leverage our existing MAC database & tools). The FreeRadius tool is being integrated to achieve this.[in v2.1 RC3]
* Wireless LAN authentication based on 802.1x.
[25.10.06: working except for 'cached windows domain logons']
* Attributing vlan based on Device and switch (location) [v2.2 - in beta tst]

Features recently added:
- User lookups from MS active directory [Included in v2.1 RC3]
- scan devices regularly with nmap and document ports & OS versions. Show this info on the Gui [Done. V2.1 RC1 Aug'06]
